Sweetgrass Braid, also known as Holy Grass, is a long, hardy herb with a sweet vanilla-like scent and is native to Europe and North America. Many Native American tribes use Sweetgrass in prayer, smudging, and purifying ceremonies, or simply for its pleasant aroma. It is considered a sacred plant, and the smoke from the sweetgrass is thought to attract positive energies. This dried herb is rolled into tight braids which do not burn, but rather smolder like incense. The leaves, which can reach two feet in length, can also be woven to make baskets.
*Adult supervision required. Avoid smudging if pregnant. Keep children and animals away from lit smudges. Do not leave lit smudges unattended.*
