Hello loves! It's Sunday, and for me, this is such a sacred day. Now I know what you're probably thinking: Javon, all of the days seem to be sacred in your world. And you're right lol, but that's what I mean by "life as ceremony", in case it's not clear by now. The more you connect with your womb space and live a life that honors your unique cycles, you'll begin to see the beauty and sanctity in all things. In my world, Sunday carries the theme of "Leadership and Vitality", but it is also a day of rest and reset.
I wear many hats: I take care of my family and the people I love, I am the assistant manager of a thriving community, and I am the owner and facilitator of this amazing space. Because I lead and hold space in so many areas of my life, it is important that I rest and reset so that I can continue to show up in my fullest self. If I don't, I can easily experience fatigue, burnout, or worse- resentment.
Now you know that as Your Guiding Light, I like to talk about myself so you don't feel singled out. But I'm sure you can relate to being all the things in your life. Your days are filled with never-ending to-do lists, deliverables, and people depending on you to show up in one way or another. It can be easy to fall into the slump of "do nothing" on the weekends. But in case no one has told you today, beloved, please allow me to be the first: intentional rest and reset are important. Not only will you accomplish what needs to be done now, but it will save you the guilt and "shoulda coulda wouldas" later. Make sense?
Sunday: A Day of Light, Vitality & Personal Power
Sunday has long been associated with the Sun, energy, and renewal. In ancient Rome, it was called dies Solis — literally, “day of the Sun.” The day honored the sun’s life-giving energy and later evolved into dies Dominica, or “the Lord’s Day,” as Christianity spread through the Roman Empire. Over time, Sunday became both a day of rest and a day for spiritual reflection.
Across cultures, the sun has been represented by goddesses who embody vitality, leadership, and renewal:
Amaterasu (Japan) – the radiant sun goddess, symbol of life and inspiration
Saule (Baltic / Latvian) – goddess of warmth, fertility, and vitality
Sekhmet (Egypt) – fierce solar goddess of transformation, protection, and leadership
Ushas (Vedic / Hindu) – dawn goddess bringing light and new beginnings
Brigid (Celtic) – fire and creativity, inspiration, and renewal
Today, you can reclaim Sunday as a day that meets your personal and professional needs. It’s a day to:
Rest and Reset: Honor your energy, reflect on your week, and recharge.
Activate Vitality: Step into your personal power and leadership, grounded in clarity and purpose.
Celebrate and Align: Acknowledge accomplishments and set intentions for the week ahead.
By blending historical symbolism, goddess archetypes, and modern self-care, Sunday becomes your sacred space for renewal, empowerment, and action—whether in life, business, or your spiritual journey.
You Can Honor Rest & Leadership at the Same Time
You can absolutely honor rest and reset while also embracing leadership and vitality. In fact, this balance is the foundation of sustainable power. Vitality isn’t about constant motion or hustle; it’s about renewed energy, clarity, and alignment. And those qualities come from intentional, mindful rest.
Sunday becomes a sacred invitation to slow down, restore, and rise.
Rest + Leadership = Regenerative Vitality
1. Rest & Reset: Recharge Your Energy
Use Sunday as a space to exhale. Slow down, release what’s weighing on you, and make room for clarity to return.
Practices that support this:
Meditation or gentle movement
A warm bath, tea ritual, or nourishing self-care
Soft journaling
Journaling prompts:
What do I need to release to step into my power fully?
Where do I feel called to lead with presence this week?
2. Leadership & Vitality: Step Into Your Power
Once your energy is softened and grounded, you can begin shifting into clarity.
Practices that support this:
Visualizing your week from a place of calm, embodied leadership
Setting intentions or priorities for the week
Acknowledging and celebrating last week’s wins—as fuel for your inner fire
This is leadership that honors your body, your boundaries, and your capacity.
3. Weaving the Two Together
Your Sunday doesn’t need to be all rest or all productivity. Let it be a rhythm. Try alternating between:
Stillness → reflection, breathwork, soma
Activation → intention-setting, planning, organizing your week
This natural ebb and flow replenishes your vitality, making your leadership more grounded and sustainable.
Remember: Your womb is the center of your regenerative power. When you nourish it—through rest, intention, and mindful energy work—you build strength, clarity, and resilience from the inside out.
